Sassuolo has a new home: the Mapei Football Center was inaugurated with a ceremony attended by owner Giorgio Squinzi and president Carlo Rossi. The facility is located on the outskirts of Sassuolo on an area of 45,000 square meters, with six football fields, four of which are grass and two are synthetic. The complex also includes a four-story administrative center overlooking the playing fields, 110 meters long, which houses 50 offices, eight dressing rooms, two gyms, two physiotherapy centers, a physiotherapy pool, and can accommodate 135 athletes at the same time. The Mapei Football Center is the result of an agreement between Sassuolo Calcio and the Municipality with a 40-year concession in an area in Cà Marta. The sports center was built in 14 months with an expense of 12 million euros. Giorgio Squinzi said: «We continue to invest to achieve lasting results over time - this is an excellent facility in the field of sports infrastructure to support the first team and young people, but also a meeting point with fans and the territory». Coach Roberto De Zerbi added: «This new home will also help my work - and will give a sense of belonging to everyone». The Mapei Football Center will be used for both the first team and youth activities. In a few days, it will host the Belgian Under 21 national team in retreat ahead of the European Championships.
